Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour*
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 4 bars (⅞ ounce each) milk chocolate candy
- ½ cup chopped nuts
Directions
- Heat oven to 350º.
- Grease baking pan, 13x9x2 inches.
- Mix thoroughly butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla.
- Blend in flour and salt.
- Press evenly in bottom of pan.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until very light brown. (Crust will be soft.)
- Remove from oven; immediately place separated squares of chocolate candy on crust.
- As soon as chocolate is soft, spread evenly.
- Sprinkle with nuts.
- While warm, cut into bars, about 2x1½ inches.
*If using self-rising flour, omit salt.
